Julie Wolfe’s ongoing series of artist books continues with a second volume that brings together new work exploring perception, chance, and association through painting, drawing, and collage.
The design builds upon the visual language established in Apophenia (2023), retaining the oversized (265 × 330 mm) format and exposed-spine binding while introducing ABC Maxi Round, whose soft geometric forms echo the recurring shapes and rhythms found throughout Wolfe's work.
Printed on Munken Pure with fluorescent pink ink, the publication introduces translucent IBO Reflex paper to mark transitions between sections. By printing type in reverse and allowing it to be read through the sheet, these pages create layered visual effects that reference the transparency and overlapping forms present in the artwork.
Together, the materials, typography, and production choices create a reading experience that reflects the artist's exploration of perception, chance, and association.
